Oeko-Tex®

Cazitex is the proud owner of the product label STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®: confidence in textiles, tested for harmful substances.

Since its introduction in 1992, the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 has developed test criteria, threshold values and testing methods on a scientific basis. It applies a strict and extensive catalogue of measures with hundreds of individual regularised substances.

The more intensive the contact with the skin, the stricter the requirements. Cazitex complies with the most stringent product class, product class 1 for babies and infants. Safety is the top priority when it comes to little children’s sensitive skin.

Test criteria

The OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 takes into account:

  • Legal regulations linked to banned Azo dyes, formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol, cadmium and nickel for example.
  • Numerous chemicals known to be harmful, even if they are not yet subject to any legal regulations.
  • The requirements listed in Annexes XVII and XIV of the European Chemicals Regulation REACh and the ECHA SVHC Candidate List that are considered by the OEKO-TEX® Association to be relevant for fabrics, textiles, garments or accessories.
  • Debates and developments considered relevant are taken into account as quickly and effectively as possible by updating the requirements of the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100.
  • The requirements of the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) regarding lead.
  • Numerous environmentally relevant substance classes.
